Eintracht Frankfurt's sporting director, Markus Krösche, has addressed ongoing speculation regarding Omar Marmoush's potential transfer to Manchester City. This comes after Marmoush played a pivotal role in Frankfurt's recent 1-0 victory over FC St. Pauli, scoring the winning goal.
Rumors have surfaced suggesting that Marmoush, the 25-year-old Egyptian international, has reportedly reached a preliminary agreement with Manchester City. Krösche confirmed that a club has shown interest in Marmoush but stated that no formal offers have been made. "A club has expressed an interest in Omar. So far, nothing more has happened," he said.
Reports indicate that Eintracht Frankfurt is seeking €80 million to part ways with their star striker. Krösche acknowledged the flood of rumors, emphasizing that not everything circulating in the media is accurate. "We will be talking about this all the time. You can't take all the rumors at face value," he remarked.
Looking ahead, Eintracht Frankfurt is set to face Freiburg on Tuesday evening, with Krösche expressing his expectation for Marmoush to participate. However, he refrained from assuring the striker's inclusion, stating, "I can't answer that 100 percent, I'll be honest." He reiterated the club's intention to maintain their squad unless an extraordinary situation arises, which has yet to occur.
Krösche further noted that the interest in Marmoush is a common aspect of the football industry, affirming, "We've all been in this business for a number of years. When a player is playing so well, a lot of clubs are interested. That's the way it is now and that's the way it will be in the future. I don't lose any sleep over it."
