Elversberg Regains Winning Form With Commanding Win Over KSC in 2. Bundesliga

Elversberg produced an assured performance to claim a convincing 3-0 win over Karlsruher SC at the URSAPHARM-Arena this evening.

A brace from Immanuël Pherai and a goal from Tom Zimmerschied sealed the win for Elversberg, strengthening their promotion push.

Karlsruhe started brightly and enjoyed a promising spell in the opening ten minutes before fading as Elversberg began to control the game.

The breakthrough came in the 26th minute after a slick passing move, with Pherai finishing from close range after Lukas Petkov set him up.

Marcel Franke produced a vital goal-line clearance to deny David Mokwa on the cusp of halftime, keeping Karlsruhe within reach at the break.

In the second half, Pherai struck his second in the 53rd minute after a cross from Zimmerschied, who had provided the assist for the finish inside the area.

Shortly after the hour mark, a cross from Pherai found Lasse Günther at the back post and Zimmerschied finished first-time to make it 3-0.

Elversberg managed the remainder of the match with authority, restricting Karlsruhe to few chances and sealing the result.

The victory ends a three-week wait for a win for Elversberg and lifts them back up to third place for now, while Karlsruhe remain in eighth ahead of the weekend’s fixtures.
