Rani Khedira, a veteran defensive midfielder, has stated that his focus for the remainder of the season is with Union Berlin.
He has been linked with a move to Borussia Mönchengladbach amid transfer speculation.
Speaking to the publication, Khedira said: “I still have a contract here. Therefore, that's the current assumption.”
Borussia Mönchengladbach are seeking a replacement for Rocco Reitz, who is set to join RB Leipzig in the summer.
Khedira could address the midfield gap with his playing ability and leadership, with the Duisburg native recently gaining Tunisian international caps.
When asked whether Union Berlin fans should worry about his departure, he avoided that topic and emphasized his focus on what is essential in the current situation.
The defensive midfielder is under contract until 2027 with Union Berlin, and he appears intent on staying with the club for now.
