Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany confirmed that Manuel Neuer will be fit to face Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday. He also confirmed that Jamal Musiala will not be available due to illness.
After weeks on the sidelines with a broken rib, Neuer will return to goal for Bayern Munich. Daniel Peretz, who temporarily took over Neuer's position, will be unavailable due to a kidney contusion sustained in training.
“It's fortune and misfortune at once. Luckily Manuel Neuer is back. The unlucky thing is that Daniel Peretz will be out for a few weeks,” said Kompany. He added that they do not have a precise timeline for Peretz's return but are hopeful he will be back by the end of the month or early next month.
Bayern Munich released a statement on Thursday indicating that Jamal Musiala remains unable to return to training due to a severe cold, resulting in his absence from the match against Gladbach. Kompany emphasized the challenge of replacing Musiala's unique contributions to the team.
“Jamal is in that category where you can't replace him one-for-one. But that doesn't mean we have different demands. We want to win. Jamal will be back really soon. It's normal not to have every player available. We've had that already this season,” Kompany concluded.
