Kiwi Star Achieves Sixth Consecutive Victory as Historic 45-Year Milestone Approaches in Premier League Fairy Tale

Nottingham Forest continued their impressive season with a 3-0 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday, marking a successful return to Molineux for manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

England international Morgan Gibbs-White and forward Chris Wood scored before half-time, bringing Forest within six points of league leaders Liverpool, whom they will face in their next Premier League match.

Substitute Taiwo Awoniyi completed the scoring in stoppage time. The defeat leaves Wolves just outside the relegation zone, relying on goal difference, as they experienced their first loss under new manager Vitor Pereira.

Forest remains third in the Premier League table, now level on points with Arsenal. While a title challenge may be ambitious, the team is establishing a significant lead in the race for Champions League qualification next season.

They are currently five points ahead of fifth-placed Newcastle and six points clear of the struggling reigning champions, Manchester City, in sixth place.

A top-four finish would secure a return to the elite European competition for the first time in 45 years for the two-time European champions, although a fifth-place finish could also be sufficient depending on the performance of English clubs in European tournaments this season.

Gibbs-White enjoyed his return to Wolves, where he began his career, and made a strong case for further international recognition with a composed finish from a pass by Antony Elanga.

Forest's remarkable transformation from relegation battlers last season to Champions League contenders has been built on a solid defense and Wood's scoring form.

Wood netted his 12th goal of the season by converting Callum Hudson-Odoi's low cross, doubling the visitors' lead just before the half-time break.

Wolves attempted to find a way back into the match after the interval but struggled to create chances in the absence of key player Matheus Cunha, who was suspended.

Goalkeeper Mats Sels made a crucial save to deny Jorgen Strand Larsen, helping Forest achieve their ninth clean sheet of the season and fourth consecutive shutout.

This defensive strength is reminiscent of Espirito Santo's previous tenure at Wolves, where he successfully led the team from the Championship to European competition for the first time in 39 years.

After challenging spells at Tottenham and Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, Espirito Santo appears to be recapturing that success, bringing hope and excitement to Forest fans.
