Kroos Backs Neuer Following Red Card Incident: Urges Him to Cease Apologies

Toni Kroos has expressed his support for Manuel Neuer following the goalkeeper's red card during Bayern Munich's match against Bayer Leverkusen.

Neuer received the first red card of his career on Tuesday night after bringing down Jeremie Frimpong just 17 minutes into the DFB-Pokal match, which Bayern Munich ultimately lost 0-1.

The incident left Bayern in a challenging situation, and Neuer has since issued an apology in post-match interviews and on social media. He stated, “That’s tough ... Unfortunately I came too late in the situation in which I tried to help. After the red card, it was of course extremely difficult for the boys with one man down, but they really tried everything. I’m sorry,” in an Instagram post.

In contrast, Kroos, Neuer's former teammate, believes that the goalkeeper does not need to apologize. He commented on Instagram, “Stop apologizing,” adding a goat emoji, which signifies 'Greatest of All Time'.

Additionally, former Bayern Munich players Franck Ribery and Giovane Elber have also reached out with messages of encouragement for Neuer.
