Collins Discusses Departure from Dortmund to Join Eintracht

Nnamdi Collins has discussed his transition from Borussia Dortmund to Eintracht Frankfurt, highlighting the positive impact it has had on his career.

In 2023, Collins departed from Borussia Dortmund's youth system to join Eintracht Frankfurt in a transfer valued at approximately €1 million. Since then, he has successfully adapted to his new environment, making 12 appearances across all competitions this season.

The versatile defender received a call-up to the Germany Under-21 squad in November and is reportedly being considered by Germany national team coach Julian Nagelsmann.

Reflecting on his experiences, Collins expressed satisfaction with his progress at Eintracht in an interview with Sky Germany. He noted, "I mainly spent my youth years at BVB and I can only say that my youth years were the best time of my young career. I didn't get too involved in the professional game at BVB."

Collins recently extended his contract with Eintracht until 2030, emphasizing the supportive atmosphere at the club. He stated, "At Eintracht I simply notice the willingness to help people, the positive atmosphere and the calmness." He appreciates the balance between competition and enjoyment in training, contrasting it with his experiences at Dortmund, where he felt more insecurity.

He concluded, "We all started playing football because we enjoyed it. Of course, football is not all fun, but you have to keep the fun in it. Here at Eintracht I have that relaxed attitude, that fun. It's simply fun to train."
