Hoffenheim and Germany goalkeeper Oliver Baumann has responded to speculation linking him with a move to Bayern Munich.
Reports previously suggested Bayern were considering Baumann as a potential replacement for Manuel Neuer, should the 40-year-old retire this summer, with Baumann seen as an experienced back-up to Jonas Urbig, who could succeed Neuer as No. 1.
Baumann expressed surprise when asked about the link after Hoffenheim’s 1-2 loss to Mainz, saying he had not thought about it and would decide on the future in due course.
Hoffenheim coach Christian Ilzer said he had no information and noted that speculation often stems from media and agents, with the team remaining focused on its remaining games.
