Kahn Asserts Bayern's Financial Capability to Acquire Wirtz

Oliver Kahn has expressed confidence that Bayern Munich possesses the financial capability to acquire Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayern Munich is among several elite European clubs reportedly interested in the 21-year-old midfielder. However, securing Wirtz would require a substantial financial commitment, with estimates suggesting a transfer fee around €150 million if he were to leave Leverkusen in the future.

Kahn, the former chairman of Bayern Munich, stated, "Absolutely. It's no secret that FC Bayern can do a lot financially if they want to." He acknowledged that while the club could afford to pay significantly more than €100 million, they might need to transfer some players to stay within a specific budget.

Despite the interest from Bayern and other top clubs, Kahn indicated that Wirtz may choose to extend his contract with Leverkusen, which currently runs until 2027. Reflecting on his previous interactions with Wirtz, Kahn noted, "He considers his moves very carefully. The whole world is open to him at the moment, but I wouldn't be surprised if he extended his contract."
