Jürgen Klopp has defended his decision to accept the role of Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull, a move that has sparked significant controversy.
The announcement of his new position earlier this month was met with backlash, particularly from German football fans who view Red Bull negatively due to the commercial practices associated with RB Leipzig.
In a discussion on Toni Kroos' podcast 'Einfach Mal Luppen', Klopp stated that he did not intend to offend anyone with his choice. “I didn’t want to step on anybody’s toes, definitely not, and personally I love all of my ex-clubs,” he remarked.
He further noted that had he chosen to manage another club, it would likely have also disappointed some fans. “I really don’t know what exactly I could have done for everyone to be happy,” he added.
Klopp is set to begin his new role at the start of the upcoming year.
