1. FC Köln coach René Wagner has confirmed that Said El Mala is fit to play against Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga.
Said El Mala will be in the squad when 1. FC Köln face Werder Bremen this Sunday, after returning to team training following ankle issues.
The 19-year-old returned to training on Thursday and was given the green light to play at the weekend by Köln coach René Wagner during a press conference on Friday.
“He is doing well,” Wagner said. “He trained fully today, will train fully tomorrow, and is an option to start on Sunday.”
El Mala’s return is a significant boost for Köln, who enter the match in 15th place, just two points above the relegation zone.
