Spurs Star Faces Morning Dismissal as 10-Minute Collapse Triggers Premier League Nightmare

Tottenham Hotspur squandered an early lead to lose 3-1 to Crystal Palace in a crucial Premier League match after defender Micky van de Ven received a red card, triggering a chaotic ten-minute spell that swung the game.

Spurs, sitting 16th in the standings, led 1-0 in the 34th minute through Dominic Solanke’s strike from Archie Gray’s cross, but their lead deteriorated after van de Ven’s dismissal for pulling the arm of Ismaïla Sarr to deny a goalscoring opportunity.

In the ensuing ten minutes before halftime, Palace scored three goals, including two during added time, leaving Tottenham trailing 3-1 at the break. Fans began departing the stadium before halftime, and the goalkeeper was booed by the crowd.

Palace supporters directed chants at Spurs manager Igor Tudor, who had suffered a third consecutive defeat since taking charge last month, with communications about a potential dismissal noted by broadcasters and pundits.

Analysts highlighted the collapse as a key factor in Tottenham’s downturn, with Sarr contributing two goals for Palace and Jørgen Strand Larsen adding another, while Vicario conceded to a late shot through his legs.

Earlier, Palace had been denied an opening goal by a VAR offside decision. In the second half, Tottenham’s Pedro Porro was substituted off, reacting angrily by kicking bottles and directing words at the fourth official.

Tottenham, who have suffered five straight defeats, now face serious relegation concerns, sitting only one point above the relegation zone with matches still to play. Analysts and former players described Tottenham as being in a relegation battle, with the club potentially facing substantial financial and sporting repercussions.

Tottenham’s next fixture is against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, March 15.
