Spurs Manager Sends Clear Message as 48-Year Relegation Threat Looms for Players

Tottenham interim manager Igor Tudor says the prospect of relegation does not constitute real pressure, urging his players to show the courage needed to secure survival as they fight to climb out of the relegation zone.

Under Tudor, Tottenham have not won in the league in 10 matches, leaving them four points above the relegation line after he took over from the dismissed Thomas Frank. A defeat at home to Crystal Palace would heighten the risk of drop closer to the bottom three.

The club has not played in the second tier since the 1977/78 season, and Tudor has insisted he will not ease off, stressing that players must acknowledge and cope with pressure similar to other high-stakes professions, while taking responsibility and showing courage.

Tudor likened the real pressure to life-and-death decisions in medicine and stated that the club has a history of high pressure and players must be ready to stand up rather than retreat. He emphasized that responsibility and courage are the keys to progress.

Following a 2-1 loss to Fulham, Tudor criticized his players for weaknesses across all phases of the game. He acknowledged the emotional aftermath of the defeat but said the team responded well and prepared for the upcoming match, stressing that every game requires a win rather than singling out any one as a must-win.

Tottenham will again be without a number of players for the Palace match, and Tudor did not label the fixture as decisive in itself but reiterated that all remaining games are important in the battle to avoid relegation.
