Tottenham rescued a 1-1 draw at Liverpool thanks to Richarlison’s stoppage-time equaliser, while Manchester United extended their push for a top-four finish with a 3-1 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday.
Richarlison netted in the 90th minute to spare Tottenham from a sixth straight Premier League defeat as they still fight to avoid relegation, sitting 16th with eight games remaining. The result offered a glimmer of hope for interim manager Igor Tudor, who had faced a challenging run since taking over earlier in the season.
Tottenham had trailed to Dominic Szoboszlai’s first-half free-kick at Anfield, after Tudor made early changes, including substituting goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky. A weak save from Guglielmo Vicario allowed Szoboszlai’s effort to find the net, but Tottenham rallied in the second half.
Meanwhile, Manchester United moved to within three points of the Champions League places after a 3-1 win against Villa. Casemiro opened the scoring, Villa equalised through Ross Barkley, and United sealed the result with late goals from Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko. The victory strengthened interim boss Michael Carrick’s position, with United improving their standing and maintaining momentum after a managerial change.
Bruno Fernandes extended his assist tally to 16 in the league, surpassing a club record set by David Beckham, as he continues to contribute significantly in key moments for the team. United remain third, while Villa’s form has dipped, leaving them three points ahead of Chelsea with eight games to play.
