The appeal to overturn Luis Díaz's red card from a match against Bayer Leverkusen has been rejected, meaning the player will be unavailable for the upcoming Bundesliga fixture against Union Berlin.
The Sports Court of the national federation determined that the decision on the red card did not meet the criteria to be corrected, noting that Díaz appeared to dive but that the decision was not clearly and objectively incorrect even when considering video footage.
Despite the referee admitting the second yellow card may have been a wrong call, the court ruled that the incident did not meet the required standard for overturning the decision. As a result, Díaz will miss next Saturday's home match.
