Bayern Growing Concern Over Davies Injury Woes

Alphonso Davies’ injury history is raising concerns within FC Bayern’s leadership, with the club weighing potential options to bolster left-back cover in the near future.

Davies has recently returned from an injury layoff but suffered another setback, with a hamstring issue expected to keep him out beyond the international break. He had previously missed much of the first part of the season due to an ACL injury and has since faced repeated setbacks that have disrupted his rhythm.

Informants within the club, including a chief at a major football publication, indicate that the ongoing injury problems are prompting discussions about strengthening the squad with a natural left-back in the summer to provide cover.

Currently, left-back duties have been handled by Josip Stanišić and Konrad Laimer, both right-footed, with left-footed centre-back Hiroki Itō occasionally deployed in that position.

Regarding a potential sale of Davies, Bayern retains a strong negotiating position following his contract extension until 2030 signed just over a year ago. While Manchester United had shown interest prior to the extension and could revisit the market with a lucrative offer, there have been no recent inquiries from the Premier League club.
