Pressure Mounts on Spurs Manager as Controversial Derby Incident Uncovered in Premier League Summary

Manchester City secured a dominant 3-0 victory over Crystal Palace, moving within two points of Premier League leaders Arsenal, who narrowly defeated Wolves 2-1. Aston Villa also continued their impressive form, defeating West Ham 3-2.

Nottingham Forest achieved a convincing 3-0 win against Tottenham, while Sunderland triumphed over local rivals Newcastle 1-0, thanks to an own goal by Nick Woltemade.

Arsenal maintained their lead in the league with a win that included two own goals, which put pressure back on City, who have been showing signs of improvement in recent weeks.

City faced a challenging match at Selhurst Park but managed to withstand early pressure from Palace. Erling Haaland scored twice, and Phil Foden added another goal to secure the win.

City manager Pep Guardiola praised his team's performance, highlighting the importance of patience against a strong Palace side. He noted Haaland's dual role in scoring and maintaining possession during the second half.

Palace squandered several opportunities, including a missed chance from Yeremy Pino, who hit the bar. Haaland opened the scoring with a header before Foden doubled the lead following a strong run from Rayan Cherki. Haaland later converted a penalty to finalize the score.

Aston Villa, in fine form with nine wins in ten matches, overcame an early deficit against West Ham, with a notable performance from Morgan Rogers, who scored a stunning long-range goal.

Nottingham Forest's victory over Tottenham was facilitated by two goals from Callum Hudson-Odoi and an error from Spurs goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, who misjudged a cross that resulted in a goal.

Under pressure, Tottenham manager Thomas Frank expressed confidence in his ability to resolve the team's issues, emphasizing the need for time to implement changes.

Newcastle's struggles continued with a 1-0 defeat against Sunderland, marking their first Premier League meeting in nearly a decade. The match ended with Sunderland celebrating in front of their fans, recalling a similar act from Newcastle two years prior.

In another match, Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored for Leeds, securing a 1-1 draw against Brentford, while Jordan Henderson netted his first goal for Brentford.
