Former Mainz 05 and 1. FC Union Berlin manager Bo Svensson has been appointed as the new head coach of FC Copenhagen, the Danish capital club currently facing a crisis.
Svensson returns to the club where he previously played, succeeding Jacob Neestrup, who was dismissed after a poor campaign.
The 46-year-old has often been linked with a return to the Bundesliga but has chosen a different route this time.
“It is an honour to return to my beloved club and take charge of F.C. Copenhagen,” Svensson said, adding that he approaches the role with humility and confidence, aware of the challenges and opportunities ahead.
