
At a recent press conference, 1.FSV Mainz 05 coach Bo Henriksen and defender Silvan Widmer discussed the team's upcoming Conference League match against Omonoia in Cyprus.
Henriksen expressed enthusiasm for the game, stating, "We're really looking forward to tomorrow's game. If we perform to our potential, we have a good chance of winning. We want to win every game."
He highlighted the team's scoring capabilities, noting, "We've already shown that we can score goals. The data speaks for itself; we have the quality. It's just a matter of time before we score."
Reflecting on their recent performance, he added, “Even after the [Rosenborg] game, we showed what we can do in Wolfsburg. We marched, we fought. That comes from our mentality, and we'll need that tomorrow too.”
Club captain Silvan Widmer shared his excitement about the match, stating, “European nights are special for a club like Mainz.”
He emphasized the team's ambition, saying, “The anticipation is great. Of course, we want to go as far as possible. Tomorrow we can take the first step towards that with a win.”
