Hjulmand Appointed as New Coach of Leverkusen

Bayer 04 Leverkusen has officially appointed Kasper Hjulmand as their new head coach.

The Danish coach has signed a contract that will run until 2027, succeeding Erik ten Hag, who was recently dismissed from the position.

Simon Rolfes, managing director for sport at Bayer 04, expressed enthusiasm about Hjulmand's appointment, stating, "We are delighted to have brought in Kasper Hjulmand, whose work we have followed closely over a long period of time." He noted that Hjulmand's assistant coach, Ismael Camenforte, has previously worked with the club and that Hjulmand is familiar with their training methods and the club's structure.

Rolfes added that Hjulmand is expected to help the team re-establish a clear and proactive style of play, aiming to develop Bayer 04 into a top team with ambitious national and international goals.

In his comments, Hjulmand, 53, stated, "I have always perceived Bayer 04 as a very well-run, well-structured, and highly ambitious club. This impression has been strengthened over the past few days." He expressed honor in being entrusted with the team and emphasized his motivation to shape the future of Bayer 04 Leverkusen with both proven and exciting new players.
