Son's Brace Leads Spurs to Victory Over Hoffenheim

Hoffenheim's aspirations for advancing in the Europa League faced a setback following a loss to Tottenham. The match took place at the PreZero Arena, where Hoffenheim aimed to build on a recent 3-1 victory over Holstein Kiel.

Tottenham struck early, with James Maddison scoring just three minutes into the match after receiving a lofted pass from Pedro Porro. Maddison then assisted Son Heung-min in the 22nd minute, extending Tottenham's lead to 2-0.

Despite being on the defensive in the first half, Hoffenheim had opportunities to score, with Max Moerstedt and Tom Bischof coming close but unable to convert their chances.

In the 68th minute, Anton Stach provided Hoffenheim with a glimmer of hope by scoring, but Tottenham responded swiftly, with Son netting his second goal in the 77th minute to make it 3-1.

Youngster David Mokwa Ntusu scored late in the game, bringing the score to 3-2, but it was insufficient for Hoffenheim to secure a point.

The defeat leaves Hoffenheim outside the play-off positions, significantly diminishing their chances of progressing to the knockout stages, with only one match remaining against Anderlecht in the league phase.
