Bayern Munich has announced that goalkeeper Daniel Peretz has sustained a kidney injury.
The club confirmed on Wednesday evening that the 24-year-old will be unavailable for an indefinite period following a kidney contusion he suffered during training.
Peretz has been a key player for Bayern, starting the last five matches of the 2024 season while first-choice goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was recovering from a broken rib and Sven Ulreich was absent for personal reasons.
In addition to his recent performances, Peretz participated in a friendly match against Salzburg on Monday, which Bayern won 6-0. The club remains optimistic about Neuer's return for the upcoming Bundesliga match against Gladbach, as he resumed full training on Wednesday.
Recent reports indicate that Peretz's performances have elevated him to the position of Bayern's second-choice goalkeeper, surpassing Sven Ulreich.
