Bremen to Sideline Njinmah for Remainder of 2024 Due to Injury Concerns

SV Werder Bremen's personnel chief, Peter Niemeyer, has announced that striker Justin Njinmah will be sidelined for the remainder of the calendar year due to ongoing ankle issues.

Njinmah, who was featured in a full-page interview in "Sport Bild," will miss the last two league fixtures of the year in hopes of allowing his ankle to heal fully before the league resumes. This decision was confirmed by Niemeyer, who stated, "We've agreed to give him some rest. He's been playing with pain in his ankle for quite some time."

The 24-year-old striker has started four of Werder's last six league matches since returning from a previous injury. With Njinmah's absence and the injury to attacker Keke Topp, the team may consider reverting to a 3-4-3 formation with Marco Grüll on the right or may opt to utilize Scottish striker Oliver Burke alongside Marvin Ducksch in a recent 3-3-2-2 setup.
