Weiser Acknowledges Guardiola's Significant Impact on His Career

Werder Bremen wing-back Mitchell Weiser has discussed the valuable lessons he learned during his tenure at Bayern Munich, where he was coached by Pep Guardiola.

Weiser joined Bayern Munich in 2012 after leaving FC Köln and spent three years with the club, making a total of 21 appearances before moving on in 2015. Despite not achieving the breakthrough he desired at Bayern, Weiser does not consider his move a mistake.

He emphasized the positive impact Guardiola had on his development as a player, stating, "I still benefit from my time with Pep Guardiola every day, no other stint has influenced me as much." According to Weiser, Guardiola's coaching has fundamentally shaped his understanding of the game.

Weiser pointed out that his ability to read the game is largely due to Guardiola's influence, adding, "Once you've absorbed his vision, you never forget it.” He also noted that his time at Bayern taught him the significance of hard work in professional football.

Reflecting on his experience under Guardiola, Weiser mentioned that despite being the 23rd player in the squad, Guardiola consistently communicated his expectations and shared his insights, which contributed to Weiser's growth as a player.
