VfB Stuttgart head coach Sebastian Hoeneß addressed the media on Thursday ahead of the team's upcoming match against Bayer 04 Leverkusen, providing insights into his lineup choices.
The match marks the first encounter between the two teams since the DFL Supercup earlier in the season, and Stuttgart is looking to avenge their previous defeat. Hoeneß confirmed that both El Bilal Touré and Anrie Chase will be included in the starting lineup.
El Bilal Touré, a Malian striker, is set to start in the match, aiming to secure his third league goal of the season against the reigning Bundesliga champions. Hoeneß noted Touré's recent performance, where he scored his second league goal during last Saturday's match against Kiel.
Despite his successful outing, Touré was not utilized in the recent Pokal victory over 1. FC Kaiserslautern. Hoeneß also announced that Anrie Chase and Anthony Rouault will continue as the starting center-back pair, with Jeff Chabot unavailable due to suspension and injury.
Hoeneß praised Touré's abilities, stating, "He has earned that 100 percent. He is in very good form, is fresh and well rested and can cause problems for any defense with the way he plays, including Leverkusen's. He is agile, fast, good on the ball. These are the things we will need.”
