Max Eberl, Bayern Munich's board member for sport, commented on Leroy Sané's current status as a bench player, indicating that Michael Olise is currently ahead of him in the team's lineup.
Sané made an impact during a recent match against Bochum, scoring a notable goal in Bayern's 5-0 victory. Despite this performance, the 28-year-old remains a non-starter, with Olise taking precedence in the team's selection.
Eberl acknowledged Sané's efforts, stating, "Leroy is putting himself out there, he's trying to step on the gas in training. But Michael Olise is a step ahead of him in that position at the moment."
He encouraged Sané to continue his hard work, emphasizing the player's importance to the team: "Leroy is putting the pressure on, we will still need him."
Sané's contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and Eberl mentioned that the club is engaged in positive discussions regarding an extension for the winger.
