Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has confirmed that Nicolas Jackson will soon sign a new long-term contract. The Senegal international has made a strong start to the Premier League season, scoring two goals in three appearances. While his current deal runs until June 2031, Chelsea has decided to extend his stay with a higher salary. Maresca confirmed the renewal after the 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, stating that Jackson has been performing fantastically and the club is very pleased with his current form. Chelsea had been looking for a new striker in the transfer market, with Napoli's Victor Osimhen as their top target. However, they were unable to reach an agreement with Osimhen, who declined a pay cut. Osimhen remains with Napoli but has been sidelined from the first-team squad. It is likely that the 25-year-old will seek a new challenge in January, with no intention of moving to the Saudi Pro League.
