Said El Mala’s family has reportedly turned down an approach from Newcastle United, with the 19-year-old’s representatives signaling a potential move elsewhere.
Reported interest in El Mala has linked him with clubs including Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea, in addition to Newcastle United, as the youngster could be on the move this summer.
Newcastle’s approach was declined, according to Sport Bild, and the family indicated that El Mala is leaning towards a transfer to Brighton.
Köln is said to be asking around €50 million for the forward, a figure that could complicate a transfer given earlier reports that Brighton are prepared to offer around €35 million plus bonuses.
