Bayer Leverkusen has activated its buy-back clause to re-sign Kerim Alajbegovic from RB Salzburg, securing the 18-year-old on a contract through 2031 after a standout period in Austria.
Alajbegovic previously left Leverkusen for Salzburg last summer for a reported €4 million. His performances with Salzburg convinced the German club to trigger the buy-back option, with the transfer reportedly valued at around €8 million.
Upon rejoining, he is expected to contribute as a winger or attacking midfielder. Leverkusen’s sporting director said the player has exceeded expectations and will play a vital role in the coming years.
Alajbegovic has scored 11 goals and provided three assists in 36 appearances across all competitions for Salzburg this season, highlighting his potential at an international level.
