Bayern Strive to Ensure Frankfurt Match Can Proceed After Heavy Snowfall

A high-profile Bundesliga match is expected to proceed as scheduled despite heavy snowfall in Southern Germany. The upcoming game features Bayern Munich hosting Eintracht Frankfurt, with authorities and club staff taking precautionary measures to ensure safety and playability.

Snowfall in Munich disrupted normal training for Bayern on Thursday, and the pitch required clearing by club personnel on Friday. Despite these challenges, organizers anticipate no impact on kickoff.

Weather and safety preparations are being coordinated with a weather consultancy, projecting rising temperatures to 5-7 degrees Celsius and minimal risk of further snow accumulation. A team of external helpers is on standby to assist if needed.

Groundskeepers will clear existing snow, the pitch heating system will melt remaining snow, and grow lights will help regulate surface temperature. Snow removal from the arena roof and cleared access paths are also part of the preparations.

The match is still expected to start at 15:30 CET, though spectator access may be affected by ongoing weather and transport considerations beyond the organizers' control.
