
Greuther Fürth moved closer to safety with a 2-1 win over Arminia Bielefeld at the Sportpark Ronhof, boosting their survival hopes.
Goals from Branimir Hrgota and Dennis Srbeny secured the victory for Fürth, who climbed off the bottom of the table and emphasized their fight to avoid relegation.
Fürth started strongly, with Hrgota opening the scoring after four minutes from a long throw, but Bielefeld equalized 20 minutes in through Robin Knoche from a Tim Handwerker corner. The half ended level at 1-1.
Early in the second half, Fürth regained the lead when Noel Futkeu set up Srbeny for a first-time finish. Bielefeld struggled to impose themselves, while Fürth defended resolutely.
The visitors had a late chance when Roberts Uldrikis forced a save from Silas Prüfrock, but Fürth held on to secure the win. The result locks Fürth in 17th place, intensifying the relegation battle, while Bielefeld’s four-game unbeaten run ended.
