Tigges' brace lifts Paderborn to third in the 2. Bundesliga.

SC Paderborn moved into third place in the 2. Bundesliga after a 2-1 win over ten-man SC Preußen Münster.

Münster took an early lead when Etienne Amenyido was left unmarked in Paderborn’s box.

Paderborn were reduced to ten men when Yassine Bouchama received a straight red around the half-hour, and the home side then altered their approach with three half-time substitutions, bringing on Sven Michel and Steffen Tigges under coach Ralf Kettemann.

Steffen Tigges, the former Borussia Dortmund forward, was the decisive figure, levelling five minutes after the restart with a near-post header for his first of the match.

He completed his brace with a header from Raphael Obermair’s corner in the 83rd minute to put Paderborn ahead.

With Eleversberg dropping points at home to Bochum, Paderborn moved into the top three of the 2. Bundesliga standings.
