Liverpool's 13-game run ends on late winner as Tottenham coach comes under pressure again — EPL Wrap

Liverpool’s 13-game unbeaten run ended with a dramatic 3-2 defeat at Bournemouth, sealed by a 95th-minute strike from Amine Adli. Bournemouth took a 2-0 lead through Evanilson and Alex Jimenez, but Liverpool rallied with goals from Virgil van Dijk and Dominik Szoboszlai to level before Adli’s late winner.

The opener came after Van Dijk was too casual as he tried to flick Marcos Senesi’s ball over the top, allowing Evanilson to finish from Alex Scott’s cross. Liverpool then suffered a setback as Joe Gomez picked up an injury, with Wataru Endo waiting to come on as Bournemouth extended their lead when Miloš Kerkez was caught out on the return to the Vitality Stadium, enabling Jimenez to slot in his first Bournemouth goal. Van Dijk later redeemed himself by heading in Szoboszlai’s corner to draw Liverpool level.

Adli’s decisive strike came after Liverpool failed to clear a long throw, securing Bournemouth’s second win in 15 matches and lifting them to 13th, 10 points clear of the relegation zone.

The result will intensify scrutiny on Liverpool manager Arne Slot, with the Reds likely to drop out of the Premier League’s top four. Slot had previously steadied the side after a mid-season run of poor results, but the current form has drawn criticism for uninspiring performances even during the unbeaten spell.

Earlier in the week, Liverpool had produced a commanding performance to beat Marseille 3-0 and close in on the Champions League last 16, underscoring the contrast between their continental showing and domestic form.

Spurs manager Thomas Frank faced fresh calls for dismissal after a dispiriting 2-2 draw at Burnley. Tottenham led through Micky van de Ven, but Burnley struck back through Axel Tuanzebe and substitute Lyle Foster, with captain Cristian Romero’s late header sparing Spurs from defeat. Tottenham’s winless league run in 2026 extended to five matches, leaving them 14th in the table.

Manchester City beat bottom club Wolves 2-0, narrowing the gap to leaders Arsenal to four points. City were without a settled Haaland after a midweek setback, with Omar Marmoush giving Wolves the lead early before Antoine Semenyo scored for City just before halftime, moving City to 46 points.

Fulham came from behind to beat Brighton 2-1 at Craven Cottage, with Harry Wilson striking the winner in stoppage time. West Ham defeated Sunderland 3-1, effectively sealing the match by halftime after Crysencio Summerville opened, Jarrod Bowen converted a penalty, and Mateus Fernandes added a long-range strike.
