Real Madrid have reportedly deemed the signing of Dayot Upamecano as an unrealistic prospect, according to sources cited by ESPN.
Previously, Real Madrid was considered a key contender for the French defender, whose contract with Bayern Munich is set to expire next summer.
Sources within Real Madrid have indicated that the club has “practically ruled out” the possibility of acquiring Upamecano.
In contrast, Bayern Munich is reportedly advancing in negotiations with Upamecano regarding a new long-term contract.
The primary issue in the negotiations appears to be the player's request for a release clause. Upamecano is seeking a €65 million release clause that would become effective in 2027.
Bayern Munich is open to including the clause but prefers it to take effect a year later.
