Fortuna Düsseldorf has confirmed that head coach Markus Anfang will remain in his position, as reported to the Rheinische Post.
This decision was reached by new sporting director Sven Mislintat, who expressed confidence in Anfang's work both on and off the training pitch. Mislintat stated, “The performances in the last few games, the work of Markus Anfang on and off the training pitch, and the discussions have shown that we are on the right track together to get out of this difficult phase.”
Anfang took over the coaching role from the dismissed Daniel Thioune in October but has struggled to improve the team's performance, securing only seven points from nine matches in the second division.
Despite the challenges, Mislintat remains optimistic about a potential turnaround under Anfang, although financial considerations may also influence the decision to retain him.
