Wolfsburg is in the process of restructuring following the dismissal of sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz last week. This decision came shortly after the termination of manager Paul Simonis, who was let go after a defeat against Werder Bremen.
Recent reports indicate that Hoffenheim's sporting director, Andreas Schicker, has emerged as the leading candidate to fill the vacant position at Wolfsburg. Schicker would be the fourth significant departure from Hoffenheim in recent months, joining Markus Schütz, Frank Briel, and Jörg Albrecht.
In addition to Schicker, Wolfsburg is also looking to acquire Hoffenheim's technical director, Paul Pajduch. Pajduch joined Hoffenheim in October 2024, shortly before manager Christian Ilzer, both of whom transitioned from Austrian club Sturm Graz.
According to reports, Wolfsburg is actively working to finalize the appointments of Schicker and Pajduch as replacements for Schindzielorz. There have been multiple discussions and meetings, with Wolfsburg reportedly having made an offer. Both Schicker and Pajduch are open to the move.
It is important to note that there has been no direct communication between the clubs regarding this transition. Wolfsburg aims to expedite the process, although Hoffenheim is expected to demand a fee for the transfers.
