Bayern Approaches Acquisition of Sportpark Unterhaching for Women's Team Venue

Bayern Munich is reportedly nearing the completion of a deal to purchase Sportpark Unterhaching, which will serve as the new home ground for the club's women's team.

The acquisition aims to provide Bayern with a larger and more sustainable venue, while also offering financial relief to SpVgg Unterhaching, which currently plays in the third division and Regionalliga.

Club president Manfred Schwabl commented on the ongoing financial challenges faced by Unterhaching, stating, “It's always difficult financially and always a fight for survival.” He noted that ownership changes would help alleviate issues related to infrastructural costs, such as floodlights and pitch heating. Schwabl expressed confidence in finalizing the deal smoothly, emphasizing that the primary change would be the ownership while maintaining a beneficial partnership.

In addition to the potential sale, Unterhaching has faced fines for lacking a required coaching license and has been actively seeking investors to enhance its infrastructure. The expected agreement with Bayern is anticipated to provide necessary support for these improvements.
