Dino Toppmöller has responded to reports suggesting that Jean-Matteo Bahoya is unhappy at Eintracht Frankfurt and has attracted interest from Arsenal.
A report from Sport1 indicated that Bahoya is dissatisfied with his role as a substitute and may seek a transfer if his situation does not improve, with Arsenal reportedly keeping an eye on the 20-year-old.
However, Eintracht Frankfurt coach Toppmöller stated that he has not observed any significant dissatisfaction from the player. “I haven’t noticed any major dissatisfaction with him,” Toppmöller remarked during a press conference.
He acknowledged that all players desire maximum playing time, emphasizing that performance on the pitch and contributions during training ultimately determine playing opportunities.
Toppmöller also recognized Bahoya's potential but underscored that it is up to the player to take the initiative in realizing it. “We know he definitely has the potential to take another huge step forward. In the first instance, it is of course up to him,” he added.
Bahoya recently played for 13 minutes in Eintracht's 4-3 victory over 1. FC Köln.
