Holger Badstuber Questions Bayern's Transfer Strategy Amid Uncertainty

Former FC Bayern München player Holger Badstuber expressed strong criticism regarding the club's actions during the summer transfer window, specifically between May and August.

In an interview with Transfermarkt, Badstuber, who played for Bayern from 2009 to 2017, highlighted concerns about the departures of key players. He remarked, “What did they want to do, what was the task? I have no insight.” He pointed out that the loss of players like Thomas Müller, Leroy Sané, and Kingsley Coman has not been adequately addressed in terms of quality replacements.

While Badstuber acknowledged the signing of Luis Díaz from Liverpool FC as a positive move, he questioned whether it was part of a cohesive strategy. “I think he is a great player - I enjoyed watching him play at Liverpool. He has power and emotionality in his game; whether it was the perfect plan, I do not know,” he stated.

Additionally, he commented on the late transfer of Nicolas Jackson, expressing uncertainty about the club's direction. “What kind of route do Bayern want to go? Do they want to seriously rely on youth in the next one or two years? Is this the plan? I do not know what the plan is for Bayern - that is what makes me curious,” Badstuber concluded.
