Sandro Wagner has been appointed as the new head coach of FC Augsburg for the 2025-26 season, according to reports from Sky Germany.
The final agreement has been reached, and the contract is set to be signed on Wednesday, with a duration extending until 2028.
Michael Ströll, the Augsburg boss, was focused on securing Wagner as a replacement for Jess Thorup, who was dismissed from his position last Friday.
In addition to his new role at Augsburg, Wagner will continue to serve as an assistant coach for the German national team during the Nations League, working alongside Julian Nagelsmann in June.
Following the conclusion of the Nations League, Wagner will begin preparations for Augsburg's upcoming season starting in the summer.
