Coulibaly played every minute during Brest's surprising start in the Champions League, where they secured 10 points from their first four matches. However, he only featured in 7 Ligue 1 games for the Breton club, as he faced a nearly five-month absence due to a pelvic injury and adductor pain.
Although Coulibaly has not played since February, Dortmund is optimistic about registering him for the Club World Cup. The club and the defender have engaged in discussions about this possibility, as Dortmund does not plan to retain the player beyond this summer's tournament.
