Neuer Likely to Face Extended Absence Due to Recent Injury Setback

Manuel Neuer's return from injury has been postponed by several weeks due to a recent setback, as reported by multiple sources.

Bayern Munich confirmed on Saturday that Neuer has encountered an issue in his recovery from a calf injury.

Reports indicate that the 38-year-old goalkeeper is now anticipated to miss at least the upcoming Bundesliga matches against St. Pauli and Augsburg.

While there is a possibility that Neuer could be available for the first leg of Bayern Munich's Champions League quarter-final against Inter on April 8, this remains uncertain.

Jonas Urbig, who filled in for Neuer prior to the international break, will continue as the starting goalkeeper unless he is unable to play due to his own injury.

The 21-year-old Urbig had to leave the German U21 camp because of a foot injury but is expected to resume full training next week in preparation for the match against St. Pauli.
