Jonathan Burkardt missed Germany’s final training session ahead of their decisive match against Italy. Tim Kleindienst is expected to replace him in the starting lineup.
Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Tim Kleindienst will likely lead Germany’s attack against Italy in Dortmund. Kleindienst made a significant impact after coming on at half-time during the first leg, which Germany won 2-1 in Milan.
With Burkardt, the top-scorer for Mainz, uncertain to participate due to his absence from training, Kleindienst will need to step up from the beginning. Both players have scored 15 goals in the Bundesliga this season.
Kleindienst has netted three international goals in his first five appearances. When questioned about Leroy Sané’s position in the lineup for the upcoming game, coach Julian Nagelsmann did not dismiss the possibility of making changes to the team.
