Hoffenheim Defender Exits Match Due to Injury While Playing for Norway

Hoffenheim's Leo Østigård was forced to leave the field due to injury during Norway's 5-0 victory over Moldova on Saturday.

Concerns are growing regarding the severity of Østigård's injury, as he departed in the first half of the match. The player indicated that the issue might be muscular, stating, "I've had the feeling of half a thigh bump this week, and maybe I felt it a bit more," in an interview with Netavisen following the game.

Østigård expressed caution about risking further injury, saying, “I don't want to take any risks by making it worse, at least. We'll see if I'm fit enough to play the next game.”

Norway's head coach, Ståle Solbakken, expressed skepticism regarding Østigård's fitness for the upcoming match against Israel on Tuesday. He remarked, “I haven't spoken to him, but I doubt it very much now that he's been taken off. I don't know what it was, but it seems to have been a strain.”

The availability of Østigård for Hoffenheim's next game against Augsburg remains uncertain.
