The talented Brazilian goalkeeper Kaua Santos has been performing admirably for Eintracht Frankfurt, stepping in for the injured Kevin Trapp during a challenging season for the team.
Following a strong performance in a 3-1 victory over VfL Bochum, Santos shared his thoughts with Frankfurter Rundschau. The 21-year-old expressed his satisfaction with his contributions and discussed the healthy competition with Trapp.
“We have different qualities, and we learn a lot from each other every day,” said Santos, who joined the club for €1.6 million in 2023. He emphasized the positive environment at the club, stating, “It’s been an incredible time since I arrived here [in Frankfurt]. I feel like I’m constantly evolving.”
Santos highlighted the collaborative efforts of his teammates and coaching staff, saying, “My team, my coach, and I are all pulling together and working toward the goals we’ve set for ourselves.” He also noted the advantage of being able to speak Portuguese with Trapp, thanks to Trapp’s Brazilian fiancée, Izabel Goulart.
“I feel very comfortable [in Frankfurt]. My family and I are happy; we’ve been very well received,” Santos added. He expressed optimism about his future with the club, stating, “The project presented by the club was very clear to me. I am very happy and looking forward to the future.”
With Trapp dealing with shin issues, Santos is expected to have further opportunities to showcase his skills when Frankfurt faces Stuttgart after the international break.
