Leverkusen's 29-year-old Spaniard Alejandro Grimaldo has expressed his desire to return to club football in Spain, highlighting it as a personal goal.
In an interview with El Periodico de Espana, Grimaldo made clear his intentions to his current employers at Leverkusen.
Originally from Valencia, Grimaldo developed through Barcelona’s La Masia academy before enjoying a successful career at Benfica and Leverkusen.
However, his aspirations to rejoin Barcelona may be hindered by financial constraints, as Germany’s leading tabloid BILD estimates that Grimaldo could command a transfer fee exceeding €30 million this summer.
This amount may be challenging for Barcelona, who are currently facing financial difficulties.
