Odilon Kossounou's future at Bayer Leverkusen appears uncertain, while Atalanta has expressed satisfaction with his performance since joining on loan.
According to reports, Kossounou is likely to secure a permanent move to Atalanta Bergamo beyond the summer transfer window. The Ivorian defender made a strong start after his arrival at the Serie A club.
However, Kossounou faced challenges due to a muscular injury in October, followed by a persistent adductor injury in January that kept him sidelined.
Despite these setbacks, Atalanta's head coach, Gian Piero Gasperini, reportedly remains pleased with the 24-year-old's contributions and is prepared to activate the €25 million purchase option.
Kossounou is also said to feel comfortable at the Lombardy club, which must finalize the purchase by mid-June. This arrangement could benefit all parties involved, particularly as Leverkusen's manager, Xabi Alonso, excluded him from the team's plans last season following underwhelming performances.
