Bayer 04 Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso provided an update on players Nathan Tella, Edmond Tapsoba, and Florian Wirtz during a press conference ahead of the DFB-Pokal semi-final against Arminia Bielefeld.
After missing the last two matches due to a muscle injury, Nathan Tella is expected to rejoin the squad for Tuesday's game. Alonso stated that Tella is feeling “much better,” although he noted that the final training session before the match is still pending.
“But if there are no problems, he will be in the squad," Alonso confirmed.
In contrast, the upcoming match is too early for both Edmond Tapsoba, who is recovering from a thigh injury, and Florian Wirtz, who is dealing with an ankle issue. Tapsoba may return for the weekend match against Heidenheim, while there is optimism that Wirtz could be available for the game against Union Berlin on April 12.
