Robert Andrich, a 30-year-old midfielder, has expressed his determination to keep pressure on Bayern Munich as the season progresses. He stated that he and his Bayer Leverkusen teammates aim to "annoy" the Bavarian club in all competitions until the end of the season.
Despite a recent 0-0 draw in Matchday 22 that prevented them from closing the gap in the Bundesliga, Leverkusen is set to face Bayern Munich again in the Champions League Round of 16 next week.
Andrich acknowledged the challenge of catching up in the league, noting, “It is very unrealistic that we will catch up [in the Bundesliga], but we want to keep putting pressure on Bayern from behind.”
He added, “Everything is still possible in all competitions. We want to annoy Bayern until the end.” He emphasized the intensity of their previous matchups with Bayern this season, expressing anticipation for an even more heated contest in the upcoming ties.
Bayer Leverkusen will visit the Allianz Arena for the first leg of the Champions League tie on Wednesday, March 5th, followed by the second leg at home on Tuesday, March 11th.
