Kevin Müller and FC Heidenheim have reached an agreement on a contract extension.
The 33-year-old goalkeeper's future with the Bundesliga club had been uncertain, but he has now confirmed his commitment by extending his contract, which was set to expire this summer. The new agreement will keep Müller at Heidenheim until 2027.
After signing the contract, Müller expressed that the decision was significant, especially considering his age in football. He stated, "Of course, at my advanced age in football terms, you don't take such an important decision lightly. That's why there were intensive discussions, but in the end, I decided that I definitely want to continue my career here at FCH."
Müller emphasized the special connection he feels with the club and his family, saying, "This club is something very special for me and my family. We feel very much at home here in Heidenheim. I am very grateful to the management, the coaching staff, and the team for allowing me to play in the Bundesliga as a goalkeeper."
He also reflected on the achievements of the past decade, calling them "extraordinary and historic," and assured fans that the team will strive to maintain their Bundesliga status in the future.
Müller has been with Heidenheim since 2015 and has played in all 18 Bundesliga matches this season.
